I feel like something is up with this Durango's leaf springs, but honestly I don't know.
Am I completely wrong? Can you even tell with this shotty picture? Am I wasting your time?

I think your wasting out time. Looks like a normal leaf-spring under axle setup with a shock mount just inboard of that.

EDIT: Looked harder at the googles and I guess Durango's have pretty low shock mounts.

I think what you see is the shock mounts to the spring plate.
